Entering the rankings for the first time this week was CBS’ Supergirl, at #14. It’s been one of the most buzzed-about new shows this season, and it’s no surprise to see it on the rise in anticipation of its premiere tonight. Like other DC comics based shows (Arrow, Gotham, The Flash), Supergirl looks poised to become the latest staple of both the TV comic universe, as well as the TOMAmeter.
Other movers this week included ABC’s Quantico and How To Get Away With Murder, both of which dropped in the rankings to #16 and #18 respectively. Rising up in their stead were The Flash, Blindspot, and The Voice.
Dropping out of the top twenty are Grey’s Anatomy (previously #17) and Orange is the New Black (previously #20), replaced by Supergirl (#13) and Dancing with the Stars (#20).
The top network in the TOMAmeter this week continues to be ABC, with five programs mentioned. Not far behind are its broadcast cohorts, CBS, Fox, and NBC, with three programs apiece.
Each week, Ipsos MediaCT TV Dailies seeks to find out what television shows have people talking. Collecting over 5,000 unaided responses among persons ages 13-64, TV Dailies produces a top of mind awareness meter (TOMAmeter) that details the 20 most spontaneously mentioned television shows.
Here are your TOMAmeter results for October 19 – 25.
