HBO’s popular drama, Game of Thrones, is less than a week away from its season 5 premiere and mentions of the program are strong enough to boost it up to #2 this week. The two place increase was not strong enough to surpass AMC’s The Walking Dead, which just concluded its stupendous fifth season. These two popular programs will be vying for the top spot over the course of the next few weeks.
CW’s The Flash had the most impressive week among programs previously in the Top 20. The superhero drama moved up ten places to #8, which is the highest ranking the program has received since December 2014 when it also placed at #8.
In contrast, ABC’s Dancing with the Stars moved down seven places to #20 after back to back weeks as the 13th most mentioned program. ABC did however see Fresh Off the Boat move into the Top 20 for the first time since the end of February. Fresh Off the Boat came in at #14, which is the highest ranking in the programs brief existence.
After a month of trailing or tying CBS as the most represented network in the Top 20, ABC takes sole ownership of the title with five programs making the cut. CBS had three programs enter the Top 20, tying with CW for second place.
New programs in our Top 20: ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat (#14), CW’s Supernatural (#16) and Netflix’s Orange is the New Black (#20).
No longer in our Top 20 this week: CBS’ Criminal Minds (previously #15), FOX’s American Idol (previously #16) and FOX’s Gotham (previously #20).
