Entering the TOMAmeter this week is NBC’s The Wiz LIVE!, which comes in at #14. The musical special comes in below 2013’s The Sound of Music LIVE!, which debuted in the TOMAmeter at #5 before dropping to #14 in its second week; however, it surpasses 2014’s Peter Pan LIVE!, which attained a peak ranking of #17 in its premiere week. Fox’s Grease LIVE! debuts on January 31, 2016.
Netflix’s Jessica Jones managed to sustain its ranking in the TOMAmeter for a second week in a row at the #15 spot. In other superhero news, the crossover event between The Flash and Arrow drove top of mind awareness for both programs upward in the ranking.
Dropping out of the ranking this week are Blindspot (previously #7), Dancing with the Stars (previously #9), Grey’s Anatomy (previously #14), and How To Get Away With Murder (previously #18). In their places are The Voice (#8), Once Upon a Time (#12), The Wiz LIVE! (#14), and Criminal Minds (#18). For the first time since August, CBS manages to place the most shows in the TOMAmeter, with 4; NBC and the CW both follow behind with 3 apiece.
Each week, Ipsos MediaCT TV Dailies seeks to find out what television shows have people talking. Collecting over 5,000 unaided responses among persons ages 13-64, TV Dailies produces a top of mind awareness meter (TOMAmeter) that details the 20 most spontaneously mentioned television shows.
