A Bit of Holiday Spirit

The holidays are about to begin and the countdown to 2013 is on. It is a time to celebrate, reflect on the year that was and look forward to the year to come.

That means taking stock of your expectations, planning parties, and sorting out those pesky little resolutions.

So with that in mind, we focused our lens on what people across the United States and Canada are thinking, planning and doing. Thanks to the team at Ipsos Global @dvisor, we uncovered reams of data on what global citizens are thinking. For this posting, we’re sticking to the mindset in North America.

Ten random facts uncovered in our Ipsos Holiday poll

  • 24% of Canadians plan to celebrate New Years with a drink
  • 32% of Americans plan to ring in 2013 alongside friends and family
  • 75% of Canadians agree that they will make some sort of resolution for the New Year
  • 48% of people in North America are resolving to improve their financial situation in 2013
