Last year we wondered what the future would hold for the tablet PC. Well, it is almost the middle of 2012 now and the tablet PC is gaining more momentum. The majority of internet users now want to own one of these devices and a significant number plan to purchase one before the end of the year.
Since its launch in 2010, Apple’s iPad has become a force to be reckoned with and stands as the brand leader in the segment. But two years into the tablet market and credible challengers to the iPad have emerged in Amazon and Samsung. The battle will continue to be waged on two fronts: Samsung and other Android devices will fight the iPad with superior device specifications and processing power. Amazon’s early success battling the iPad on content and commerce is proving to be formidable. The tablet market has broadened and the wave is on the rise.
