This week saw the continued decline of Fear the Walking Dead (#10) and Game of Thrones (#11); since the week of August 24th, the two programs have both either declined or stayed flat in the TOMAmeter rankings each week. This is in line with last year’s TOMAmeter rankings, which saw Game of Thrones drop out of the top twenty around mid October Though the first season of Fear the Walking Dead failed to attain the massive levels of attention that sister show The Walking Dead typically gets, it was a strong showing for a freshman show.
After a brief drop, American Horror Story: Hotel returns strong at #4, rising fourteen places. Other big risers this week include ABC’s Quantico (+5 ranks) and Scandal (+3 ranks).
Leaving the top twenty this week are Modern Family (previously #16) and Grey’s Anatomy (previously #20); in their places are The Flash (#13) and NFL (#19).
ABC continues to lead in programs in the TOMAmeter with four, but it is followed closely behind by network competitors CBS, FOX, and NBC.
Each week, Ipsos MediaCT TV Dailies seeks to find out what television shows have people talking. Collecting over 5,000 unaided responses among persons ages 13-64, TV Dailies produces a top of mind awareness meter (TOMAmeter) that details the 20 most spontaneously mentioned television shows.
Here are your TOMAmeter results for October 5 – 11.
