TOMAmeter December 29 – January 4 2015: Playoff Time in the TOMAmeter!

With the NFL playoffs kicking off this weekend and the Super Bowl under a month away, mentions of the NFL/Super Bowl have improved the program’s placement in our standings this week by nine spots. The NFL/Super Bowl is now the 6th most mentioned program on our TOMAmeter.

Just edging out mentions of the NFL/Super Bowl was FOX’s Gotham, which moved up two places to claim the final spot in our Top 5.

ABC’s Scandal tied NFL/Super Bowl for the biggest mover this week. The drama moved up nine places to #8 but its counterpart, Once Upon a Time, fell nine spots to #15.

Just missing out on the Top 20 this week was Marvel’s Agent Carter. The much anticipated and newest iteration to the Marvel franchise, set to premiere this week, looks to improve on its current placement and make its debut in the Top 20 next week.

CBS had four programs make the Top 20 just nearly beating out ABC which had three programs. Look for this race to heat up with the return of ABC’s The Bachelor and the aforementioned Marvel’s Agent Carter likely to make the rankings next week.

New programs in our Top 20: New Year’s Eve/Day events (#11) and NBC’s The Blacklist (#20).

No longer in our Top 20 this week: AMC’s Breaking Bad (previously #19) and CW’s Supernatural (previously #20).
