tomameter-sept13

Re-entering the rankings this week is American Horror Story, which was last in the rankings during the week of January 26, after the finale of American Horror Story: Freak Show.  Last year, American Horror Story first entered the rankings during the week of September 29, so it is showing higher early levels of unaided awareness compared to last year’s iteration. With American Horror Story: Hotel featuring Lady Gaga (who has 50 million Twitter followers), it’s possible that we’re seeing a Little Monsters boost.

What an Actual Trump Voter Looks Like

This post, written by Cliff Young and Julia Clark, originally appeared in The Daily Beast.  We thought Trump was just a summer fling for the GOP, but it’s becoming increasingly more likely that some Republicans have met their match. Donald Trump has been a larger-than-life figure for almost a generation: businessman, entertainer, pageant purveyor, and…

Following a debut episode that clocked record viewership numbers, Fear the Walking Dead is now #2 in the rankings after its sister show, The Walking Dead. With these two atop the rankings, this marks the first time in over two years that two AMC shows were in the top five in the TOMAmeter (the last AMC show to hold a peak position was Breaking Bad, during its finale season). TOMAmeter-August 9-screen

With the first Republican debate last week, the 2016 Election enters the top of mind awareness rankings for the first time, coming in at #17. With over a year left until the election, this is certainly not the last time to expect the election be among the leaders in awareness.

Mentions for The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and Orange is the New Black continue to dominate the top three spots, though the gap between the three begins to widen. The Walking Dead re-claims the #1 spot after a couple months. Rounding out the top five are CBS stalwarts NCIS and The Big Bang Theory.

Customization Is (and Needs to Be) Everywhere

This article was co-written by Laura Kurtin and Amy Dodge. Those of us who have studied marketing in school and have worked in the industry tend to be a bit cynical about some of the gimmicks and ploys companies use to encourage us to buy their products and services. However, when we see our favorite…
