TOMAmeter December 23 – 29: The Walking Dead Holds Off Duck Dynasty

AMC’s The Walking Dead closes out 2013 in the #1 spot, edging out A&E’s Duck Dynasty as the most mentioned program this week. Can we see a changing of the guard with The Walking Dead on hiatus until February and Duck Dynasty returning in a few weeks?

Winter is coming and so is HBO’s Game of Thrones. Making a push over the past month, Game of Thrones has now moved up to #6 after coming in at #8 last week. Also moving up in the rankings this week was ABC’s Modern Family (up 3 places to #7) and FOX’s Almost Human (up 5 places to #9).

NBC’s The Voice has crowned their winner and has since fallen in the rankings. Last week’s 5th most mentioned program is now down to #14 but Adam, Blake and the gang will be returning in February so you can be sure The Voice will be heard from again.

A Christmas special helped the popular BBC program Dr. Who (#19) into the Top 20 this week joining other programs such as CBS’ CSI (#8), NBC’s Law & Order (#16) and FX’s American Horror Story (#17).

FOX’s The Following is set to return for its second season this January and is lurking just outside the Top 20. Don’t be surprised to see one of last year’s breakout hits bump a program from the list next week.
