Ipsos Gets it Right Again!

On November 6, Americans went to the polls for the 2012 U.S. Presidential Election. When the final results were in, it was clear that Ipsos Public Affairs was a winner as one of the election’s most accurate pollsters!

Ipsos Public Affairs, together with Thomson Reuters, found themselves in the winner’s circle following Tuesday’s 2012 U.S. Presidential Election having accurately predicted the outcome.

Our final poll published on November 5, the day before the election, showed Barack Obama ahead by two points among likely voters, which exactly mirrors the popular vote results (11am EST 11.07.12).

This performance reinforces our record for extreme accuracy, demonstrated in 2008 and 2010, when we were one of the election’s most accurate pollsters. Ipsos has been conducting daily online interviewing for Reuters using a unique blended sampling approach. The accuracy of our final polls shows that online polling – when done well – can be highly accurate at both a national and state level.
