Paul is the Senior Vice President of Ipsos Public Affairs’ Omnibus Services business in the US. His background includes 11 years of sales, marketing, consumer insights, and product development roles at both Pepsi Cola Company and Coca Cola Company, prior to moving into the market research and information management industry, where he has spent the past 13 years working for some of the world’s largest research (TNS-GfK-Ipsos), and sampling (Toluna-SSI) organizations.

His expertise includes designing and launching market opportunity products and services such as Ipsos’ Global @dvisor public opinion tracker, which he managed from 2006 – 2009. He is also well versed in developing sales and marketing plans for the Public Affairs’ sector teams, and frequently hosts clients advisory group sessions to incorporate their feedback into the future product development processes within Ipsos Public Affairs’ US team. In his current role he is responsible for revenue generation, client acquisition and retention, and the broadening of many Ipsos MR products and services here in the US. Reporting on consumer trends, listening to the vibe through social media platforms, and passing along relevant and topical insights to clients, colleagues, and prospective clients, is a critical part of Paul’s role today within Ipsos.

He is a frequent contributor to AMA's market research pod cast series, and has been interviewed and recorded segments for Research Radio’s, Research watch series. He has also led sales and marketing training sessions at AMA and CASRO events in the past.

Paul has a BS from Babson College, in Wellesley, MA, where he currently serves on its Consumer Advisory Board for Alumni Affairs, and has acquired sales and research certifications from Miller-Heiman, Dale Carnegie, and Burke Institute. In a recent study conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs Omnibus Division, “What Americans were thinking as the new year began”, surprisingly, only 1 in 5 expressed concern for the stock market in 2016. Maybe they are well insulated with my investment strategy, or their prognostication skills are worse than the millions who picked the Carolina Panthers to dribble the Denver Bronco’s fribble in Super Bowl 50, or thankfully they have an intelligent head on their shoulders and realize the market rises and falls with regularity.

To Drive-Thru, or Not Drive-Thru?

To drive-thru, or not drive-thru, that is certainly the question!

While credit for the first drive-thru business in the US goes to The Grand National Bank in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1930, Sheldon, “Red” Chaney, operator of Red’s Giant Hamburger in Springfield, Missouri, on famous Route 66, is credited with opening the first successful restaurant operated drive-thru in 1947.  Don’t ask me how the drive-thru phenomenon occurred in the Show Me state not once, but twice.  I thought Missourians were skeptics, and would want to see it, touch it, taste it, before driving off into the Midwest sunset.  Guess not.

To grill, or not to grill, that is the question my dear Ophelia? I know, I know wrong Shakespeare character.

In a recent Ipsos Public Affairs survey, Is Outdoor Cooking America’s Favorite Summer Pastime?, we explore America’s passion for grilling, spending time with friends, and enjoying a refreshing summer cocktail. It seems as if quite a bit of us escape the kitchen heat for the backyard grill. Eight in ten (81%) cook outside during the summer months, on average about six times per month, and almost 1 out of every 2 Americans (49%), feel cooking outside is the #1 best thing about preparing meals at home during the summer.

Can’t Get No Job Satisfaction? Think Again.

85% of Americans are satisfied with their jobs; however most would change something if possible, or at least this is what a recent survey from Ipsos Public Affairs’ Omnibus Division recently uncovered. In the May survey, US Work Place Satisfaction, it seems as if most workers are satisfied with their job, but would like a more appropriate salary (27% with women 34%), and benefits (17% with women at 19%). What would I change? Well probably a more comfortable chair, room with a view, access to more K-Cup coffee machines, and an ability to walk on water.

Americans Spring into Self-Improvement


If you could only change one thing this year, which of the following areas would you choose? Before you answer… Winning Powerball, Sailing to Greece, or receiving a lifetime gift certificate for free Chinese food at Imperial Garden, are not on the list of answers. Does that make it tougher? For me, maybe, but for the rest of the USA, probably not.
